Connecting a receipt printer

SOUS prints receipts from an Epson receipt printer connected by USB to an Android tablet, Chromebook or Windows laptop. iPads, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi printing are not supported. See Supported printers and devices for the tested setup.

Connect the printer

  1. Connect the printer to your device with its USB cable and switch it on.
  2. In the portal, open the On-Demand orders tab and click Connect printer.
  3. Select your printer in the device window and click Connect.
  4. Print a test receipt.

The printer is connected when the auto-print toggle and other printer settings appear in the On-Demand orders tab.

On Windows: if you see an error while connecting, the Windows printer driver needs to be reset once. See Printer not connecting: reset the Windows driver.

Printer settings

Once connected, the icons in the On-Demand orders tab let you:

  • Turn auto-print on or off (the blue toggle). With auto-print on, every new order is printed and a sound is played.
  • Disconnect the printer. Be careful: this disconnects immediately.
  • Refresh the page.
  • Mute or enable the sound.

Make sure you do not disconnect the printer by accident.
